I'm not familiar with Mystery Babylon. Is that the book about the prophecy in the Book of Revelation?

I just posted an article on how mass delusion persists, despite the modern education system which is supposed to teach us how to think, and to counteract religious indoctrination.

The fact that there are plenty of secular as well as religious delusions is telling to me. It means we're naturally inclined to believe strange things, and believing the truth is unnatural and therefore rare. We prefer stories; indeed, on roughly Kantian grounds, the notion that the truth can be represented may be oxymoronic, so we have no choice but to believe what's false (or what's simplified, as in our scientific and conceptual models).
