I’m not criticizing religious faith so much as the evangelical impulse. The problem with Christianity is that it’s especially exclusive, meaning there are lots of Christians who think no non-Christian lifestyle is anywhere near good enough. It’s those conservative, Evangelical, intolerant and wildly-hypocritical Christians who bother me the most.

If you understand that religious faith isn’t supposed to be particularly rational, I don’t have much of an issue with your religion. But I think there’s nothing wrong with criticizing those theists who pretend that their religious beliefs are perfectly rational so they can deny there’s any reasonable alternative to Christianity. Those theists need a wake-up call.
