I'm not appealing to the details of any existentialist philosophy (except mine). So I was just saying that the basic existentialist point about the intelligent, authentic self's alienation from an absurd world is a philosophical implication of scientific knowledge and is quietly entailed by philosophical naturalism, contra the new atheist's upbeat secular humanism.

So I was saying that I don't how you support supernaturalism or what sort of religious meaning you think there is in life. Would you be appealing to theism, to mysticism, to Christianity or to a postmodern, New Thought melange?

The Gnostic's point about consciousness (spirit) trapped in matter is very similar to the existentialist's about the alienated authentic self.
