I'm certain that the relevant doctors understand there's a war between viruses and the human immune system. Viruses adapt to our immune system and to our vaccines, forcing us to keep making new vaccines. This was the battle long before Covid-19.

So what was the alternative to wearing masks and quarantining to await a vaccine? Pretending everything was fine and going for natural herd immunity, creating a much larger death death? And what would happen if the virus still escapes our immune system, even without the masks and lock-downs?

Again, I'm open to the criticism that the strategy for fighting the virus was flawed and perhaps even based partly on the character defects of these elites (the arrogance of doctors and the cowardice of politicians). But animals have been at war with viruses for billions of years.
