If you don’t think there’s such an elite, that implies you think everyone is ethically, intellectually, or “spiritually” (existentially, psychologically) the same. As far as I can see, that would count as a reductio against your worldview. We may for the most part have the same mental capacities, but it’s ludicrous to suggest that we’re all morally the same, for example. Sociopathic murderers in prison aren’t ethically the same as timid consumers who go about their workaday lives and are afraid even to jaywalk.

As for naming names, only a therapist or a biographer could tell for sure, since it’s easy to pretend to be authentic in the existential sense. Indeed, there are likely many pretenders in academia and in the Ted talk-circuit. But given the variety of human traits and accomplishments, it’s clear there must be such an elite that likely keeps to the shadows, appalled by the spectacle of human foolishness.
