If you can't take the time to look them up, are you sure I'm still obligated to hold your hand every step of the way? You don't know what neoliberalism is? Or positivism? You think those terms are meaningless? Maybe you just happen to be ignorant in this case. Did that possibility not even cross your mind?

And you don't think scientists, too, have plenty of impenetrable jargon? It's just shorthand for experts, and we can't be experts on every topic under the sun. So we specialize, and we can branch out from our specialties, by looking up terms we don't understand. That takes some intellectual curiosity.
