If we think of the noosphere or the niche of imagination and reason as "natural," we're in danger of emptying that word of meaning, though. Mental possibilities are more clearly antinatural, which would be natural only in the sense that black holes are natural. In so far as nature is self-undermining in these ways, there are clearly two sides of "nature," the creative and the destructive ones. So something can be unnatural relative to a prior order or equilibrium. Relative to the wilderness of mindless interactions, the noosphere would be unnatural. But relative to nature's undoing of its prior set of patterns, the transformational potential of the noosphere might be natural.
