If it's God thinking through you, wouldn't that put you above the law? Wouldn't you be justified in doing whatever you want, if God's on your side? If God wanted you to smite the infidels, you'd do it just like a jihadist terrorist.
How meek your god must be, then, that he has you trolling around Medium, writing snide comments. What else are you doing for the transcendent being that makes all of nature and human society pale by comparison? Have you given away all your possessions like Jesus asked? Have you taken up his cross? Are you waiting in the wilderness for the world to end? Or are you dependent, rather, on human, good old Texan ingenuity and secular progress, like the hypocrites Jesus excoriated?
How small Christianity has become, how emasculated by modernity, when its champions are reduced to writing so many futile remarks, like rude messages on a bathroom stall. When scientists are exploring the universe, and philosophers are ranging far and wide in the realm of worldviews, what are Christians doing anymore? Christendom had its heyday with the crusades, the inquisitions, and the pogroms. As a social force Christianity's done and buried, and I don't see it resurrecting.
