I'd say that reaction to nature is only partly subjective since it should account for the facts, and I don't think nature is perfectly ambiguous, like a cup that's both half empty and half full. Saying that nature's our "enemy" would personify nature, and that would be arbitrary. Instead, our emotional response to nature should be based on the philosophical upshot of scientific models that objectify everything.
