I'd agree with certain religious people's criticisms of secular society, but not with their solutions. The reasons for our criticisms would also likely differ. For example, we might both talk about hubris, but a Christian would define this as a sin of disobedience to a divine authority figure. I see it more in existential terms of a heroic or crazed handling of shock, horror, and alienation from the godless wilderness.

But yes, there's some overlap between these discourses.

I might seem more like a lone angry voice these days because some of the Medium publications I used to send articles to are no longer around. And they changed the algorithms so Medium isn't sharing my articles like they used to. A lot of writers have been complaining, including even some very popular ones.
