I'd add that conservatives are driven by their greater gullibility and authoritarianism, which enable them to have faith in religious myths. By contrast, humanistic liberals are burdened by knowledge of life's absurdity, which hampers their revolutionary zeal.
This is largely why authoritarianism is gaining ground globally: secular modernity may be short-lived because it's self-destructive, like any counterculture.
