I wrote about Leo Strauss and the neoconservatives a couple of years ago (link below). I've adopted some of his elitist cynicism as found in his distinction between ancient and modern esoteric writing (in my talk of mainstream and neoshamanic countercultures).
I found Shadia Drury's main book on Leo Strauss to be quite thought-provoking (The Political Ideas of Leo Strauss), even if she was reading between the lines.
I don't know much about Yarvin, but I'd be inclined to critique the alt right. I've criticized both libertarianism and wokeness.
