I wouldn't say he's abandoned rationality. He's just been captured by LA culture on certain issues. He thinks through some issues a lot more than the partisans do. For instance, he criticizes both wokeness and the Trump cult, so at least he's not a reactionary. I don't think he believes that animals have more rights than humans do, which means he's a secular humanist. Anyway, he's a comedian and a social commentator, not a political scientist.
