I was thinking about the aristocrats who showed just enough skin to be enticing, although the movies indeed likely exaggerate that sexiness. The least sexy aspect of the Amish would have been their minds.

But my point is that there's a golden mean, with extremes on both sides. You can cover up too much, as with Muslim women in a burqa, and you can be overly sexed, leaving nothing to the imagination until you tire of ordinary sexuality and pursue more and more fetishes and perversions just to keep from being jaded. That's what's happening with the superabundance of sex in pornography, and while it's the opposite of a repressive culture, both are problematic. Likewise, you can have too little or too much art.
