I think wokeness isn't just socialism or progressive leftism. It's a style of discourse, a set of vices that emerged from the spoiling of many young, urban consumers and professionals. Wokeness is a cult of left-wing identity politics or tribalism, a cult that seems to have risen on social media to balance the egregious right-wing cult of Trumpism.
