I think we're in agreement on this stuff. If you're into the Eastern traditions, you're less likely to turn your religion into a maudlin laughingstock since those traditions are more mature and naturalistic. Even Hindus are upfront about the superficiality of exoteric symbols. This is why religious practice matters more than belief to Easterners since they're more skeptical about human cognitive capacities.
I agree it's generally futile to try to change people's minds on these big questions. This article is mainly informing Christians why their critics hold their platitudes in contempt.
