I think the emphasis should be on the word "necessarily." Vervaeke thinks the truth is necessarily good for us because there's a metaphysical harmony between truth and goodness. The cosmicist says there's no such guaranteed harmony, and that's the source of the alienation in what he calls our meaning crisis.
