I think I'm closer to a villain, in conventional terms since I'm not so well integrated into society. It's true that my writing goes out into the unknown, as it were, and then I distribute my findings for whomever wants to see them. But I think the deeper question is whether you overcome the known or it overcomes you. The hero leaves the confrontation out of social obligation. A true philosopher never stops learning and doubting, and is thus liable to become a social outsider, which is tantamount to being a villain (in the conventional sense).
