I suppose we're all inclined to encourage better practices, which is why we bother to write on these topics.

Have you read The Dawn of Everything, by Graeber and Wengrow? It deflates some myths about prehistory, and means to shake up our confidence in the inevitability of our way of life, to make room for a more flexible society that incorporates some aspects of nomadism.

Expecting a return, though, to an animistic foraging society would be misplaced. The only way we're heading all the back is in a postapocalyptic scenario. You can't put the genie back in the bottle. We'd have to adapt lessons or insights from prehistory to our zeitgeist.
