I suppose that's true. We're internally divided mammals because we evolved in a haphazard manner, as do all species. Our quirk is that our brains barely fit in our furless monkey bodies, as it were.

Idealists like Plato say that the material world and thus our organic imperatives are illusory or are otherwise unworthy, so we should live in our heads and in contemplation of great mysteries.

But there's a pragmatic, humanistic side to my philosophy too. It's not just that we have to get on with eating and with other menial tasks. We also have to get on with conquering the wilderness as part of our revolt against godless absurdity. Not all practical tasks are innocent, then, and even eating can be villainous (if we're including industrial farming, overfishing, etc.).
