I say something similar when I say we should philosophize by starting with the worst-case scenario, a scenario that is in fact the philosophical upshot of naturalism. We shouldn't ignore dark truths or flee to religious fantasies. Instead, we should build a worthy, uplifting (humanistic, liberal, progressive) worldview on the cold, hard facts. Misanthropes like Efilists, though, don't do the second part. They don't build anything after they've torn everything down in their minds.
