I quote the Bible to show what Christianity is about, just as I'd quote Buddhist scriptures to show what Buddhism is about, or I'd quote from Darwin to show what his theory of natural selection says.

Obviously, there is no once-and-for-all correct interpretation of any religious scripture, because scripture is poetic and phenomenological, and is meant to inspire under many different circumstances. That's why religious people tend to fight amongst each other. They can't agree and they confuse the art of interpreting fiction and myth, with a pseudoscience that buttresses their political totalitarian agendas.
