I point out in the article that modernity isn't beyond reform. In other articles, I've criticized numerous aspects of modernism such as neoliberalism, consumerism, and the apparent self-destructiveness of our notion of progress.
Far from saying that secularism is the answer to everything, I argue in lots of other articles, on Nietzschean grounds, that philosophical naturalism should be combined with pantheism to add spiritual or existential depth to a secular outlook.
It's just that Americanized conservative Christianity is an egregious form of pseudo-spirituality, and it's central to the Trump cult.
