I haven’t read Paul Levy, and I’m a little suspicious of the use of quantum mechanics to reinvent religion since it might amount to a god of the gaps argument. There certainly are fraudsters and phonies in New Age circles. Much of Eastern religion is being dumbed down and commodified.
My peak state from cannabis was relatively minor and not wholly transformational, but it was enough to indicate to me that religions are surely based on these real states of consciousness. The supernatural interpretation of them is something else, but the experiences are often real.
