I haven't read him, but I'm familiar with holism and deep ecology. Lent seems to emphasize everything's interconnectedness, whereas I emphasize the wild disparities and autonomies, such as the planets that are divided by the vacuum of outer space. I don't think science alone decides what worldview we should adopt. That would be scientism that discounts the need for philosophical judgment as to what ought to be emphasized in a conceptual simplification.
I'll take a look at his book, though.
