I have tried smoking and vaping cannabis, and I've written about it (link below). I believe there's a wide variety of cannabis plants, and smoking them has different effects. It may also be that the effects are diminished with extended use, as with any drug. I haven't used cannabis much and usually have had trouble inhaling it properly. But then I tried it with a vape pen and had a bizarre experience in which I felt like I was talking to God. Again, I describe the experience in the article below.

The word "psychedelic" has connotations of hippies and of the 1960s. If we strip those connotations away and focus on the core meaning, I think cannabis would count as a relatively mild mind-altering and therefore psychedelic drug (depending on the dose and on which variant you ingest).

I'd prefer the word "entheogen," though.
