I have indeed watched several seasons of Faceoff, and I agree there's a lot of camaraderie between those contestants. Obviously, being on TV can help your career.

That doesn't affect the point I was making in the article. The show is still a competition that testifies to the predominance of neoliberal expectations. Why not just showcase the work of those artists and give them all equal cash prizes at the end? Why make it a competition with only one big winner? Because predation and social Darwinism lurk in the background of all corporate phenomena.
