I don't think those options are mutually exclusive. I agree that Trump expresses the American Id and that he triggers us. He could be evil too. Evil is roughly equivalent to metastasized malignant narcissism, the kind that's full activated (in Trump's case by enormous wealth, fame, and power) rather than dormant.
