I don't think it matters much who you vote for in the US. The president doesn't have much power to overcome the social polarization and the dysfunctional Congress. Any legislation one president gets through will be repealed by the opposing party's leader next time around.

What makes Trump different is that he's an existential danger not just to pet Democratic policies but to modernity, the rule of law, intellectualism, freedom of speech, and so on.
