I don't know if it's contradictory, and perhaps it's just a semantic issue of the connotations of "nihilism." But on the face of it, if you say "there are no shoulds," that seems to fit the bill of nihilism. What you're reacting to are the connotations or the supposed dire implications of that negative standpoint. So your point might be that there are enlightened and unenlightened ways of handling the truth of nihilism.
