I do support freedom of speech and loathe censorship that's based on cowardice. But "freedom of speech" can function like "free market," in that both can be recipes for self-destruction.

A free market allows monopolies to form and capture the regulators, which sabotages the creative power of capitalism. And if your society is so free that you give rein to parasites and trolls who don't respect other people's freedom or the Enlightenment principles of liberalism (including the preciousness of every person as such), your free society will turn into a tyranny. This is the problem with free societies that Plato and Aristotle understood. So we should be free to express ourselves, but we should also beware of illiberal parasites who mean to exploit liberal values to undermine them in the long run.
