I do have a solution. It's spelled out in the thousands of pages I've written on this stuff, collected below.

In this case, I'm with Nietzsche in thinking that the liberal's emphasis on instrumental, self-interested rationality might be insufficient to preserve modern societies. We could use a viable late-modern religion. And I agree with Anthony Kronman in thinking that it should be pantheistic, to be consistent with scientific naturalism. (I'd add existentialism and neo-Kantian pragmatism too.) I also agree with Yuval Harari that liberalism seems to be undermining itself with transhumanism.
