I certainly agree that there are these unsavory connections. There's a risk, though, of overusing the word "religion." But QAnon and conspiracy-theories are cult-like, as is Trumpism itself. And our cognitive weaknesses come into play here. In a free society, our penchant for committing fallacies will be more fertile, whereas in a traditional society, only one fraud is allowed to dominate, namely the prevailing religion.
