I appreciate the Taoist interpretation, but I don't find it very convincing here. A virus is like raw foreign DNA that seeks out hosts to enslave their resources to copy itself. This is a parasitic relationship. Is it a happy yin and yang relationship when a con artist lies to a victim and defrauds her out of her life's savings? I think not. That, too, is parasitism or predation.

Many viruses are harmless, but lots aren't. The ones that aren't need us, but we don't want them because they're deadly to us. So that's not a balanced relationship.
