I appreciate that very much, and I'm wholly in agreement with you about the need to shake up the Left. Bill Maher and the so-called Intellectual Dark Web do that too. Thanks to my series on conservatism, no one can fairly accuse me of being a secret conservative or anything like that.

I take my writing seriously as an artistic act, though. I don't just try to provoke to be contrarian or controversial. I aim to purify my intuitions and to rationally and rhetorically justify a coherent vision of what's right. Some issues are especially divisive, but that's not always just because of the relevant complexities and ambiguities. It could also be because we've been confused and misled, in which case artists and thinkers may have to remind us of the obvious.
