I agree with Dawkins that more should be said about this kind of child abuse. He got a lot of flak for saying that, but it's clearly possible to exploit children's gullibility and natural trust in their elders, screwing the children up for life. Then again, according to liberal standards of tolerance, parents have the right to raise their children as they see fit (within reason).

I agree about the infantilization of adults, and I wrote some articles on the secular version of it.
You're using "prophet" in a pejorative sense there, though. I think there's a non-pejorative sense which takes prophets to be visionary artists or intellectuals.
