I agree Trump is a symptom of a failing political and economic system, but I doubt it's defensible to say Trump is exceptional “only in being exceptionally open and blatant about what he is.” The shamelessness that makes him so open and vulgar about his inhumanity also deepens his commitment to exploring his many vices.
