I agree that Trump's an extreme case and that the waters could be muddied here. But there seems to be some continuity between clinical narcissism and the infantilizing tendencies of common consumerism. There's more continuity than we'd like to think. Consumerism makes us all more myopic and selfish than we otherwise would have been.
