I agree that there are surely arrogant New Atheists. Power alone is corrupting, so the leaders of a movement aren't often saints, or they get less saintly as they acquire more influence.

And indeed, debates rarely change minds. I argue elsewhere that the choice to accept or reject religion is existential, so it's not wholly rational. The arguments back and forth about God are more like rationalizations.
