I agree that the phenomenon (the set of progressive characteristics) may be broader than what I address in the article, and that young people generally will often act as though they were dumb. So if your main criticism is that the progressives you know aren't so tyrannical and they mean well so there's more than this cult going on, I won't dispute it. If you're saying there's no such harmful cult at all on the left, I beg to differ.
Cancel culture has gotten out of hand. I understand that Fox News exaggerates the threat to fire up the right-wing crazies, and that as bad as wokeness may be, it's still a mere First World problem, but it's still chilling to behold. I take artistic license seriously, so it's annoying when political correctness gets in the way of art or protected speech.
What's more dangerous to society, politically incorrect jokes or the tyranny of stifling political correctness? The answer's not so obvious to me.
Al Franken resigned as senator not because his jokes made him unfit to serve, but because of a lily-livered, hyper-feminine culture on the left. That's another way I frame the American political spectacle, as a clash between toxic femininity and toxic masculinity (link below). No need to guess which side is which since it should be obvious.
