I agree that Netanyahu opted for a sledgehammer approach. But what I'm trying to get progressives to realize is that Israel was naturally forced into its Machiavellian superpower status because of the Muslim world's medieval/tribal intolerance of Israel's existence as a liberal, Jewish state. How do you think you'd behave if you were surrounded by hostile enemies for decades, enemies who were trying to kill you and burn down your house, and who rejected fair political compromises?
