I agree that everything can be seen as art or in aesthetic terms, taking into consideration the grace or lack thereof with which the job is done. But that kind of art is different from fine art or culture criticism. I suppose there’s an implicit criticism if someone’s doing their job artfully, since the slackers come across as lazy or brutish by comparison. But that kind of grace is Daoist, since it’s all about efficiency or optimal flow, being one with nature. Fine art that comes from an outsider’s perspective is about criticizing the status quo, not merging with it.
