I agree that Christianity begins with syncretism, including in Paul's letters. I wrote a series on how that syncretism is consistent with the Christ myth theory. What's odd about Paul's letters is that, as early as they are, he's not interested in the historical Jesus, but only in the risen, spiritual Christ of faith.
