I agree that Buddhist practice is one thing, and theorizing is another. I'm doing the philosophy of religion here, analyzing some Buddhist teachings to attempt to reconcile Eastern and Western conceptions of enlightenment. That may or may not be of interest to practicing Buddhists. If Buddhists like the practice, they continue regardless of how some philosopher interprets it.

Another reason this topic might not interest Buddhists is that the topic here is Buddhahood, not Buddhist practice in general. And if Buddhahood is rare, then most Buddhists can afford to ignore the question of what they could expect from an enlightened state, or the very endpoint of Buddhist practice.

But we're free to ponder the implications of a great many things, aren't we?
