I agree roughly with that analysis. But I recently wrote an article that recasts the metaphysical distinction between the natural and the supernatural, as one between the wilderness and the civilized. The article's not out yet, but it's called "How Civilization Devours Nature like a Black Hole: The unnaturalness of our progress in the universal wilderness."
