I agree, but it's not exactly a fair fight since there's no compelling progressive spokesperson in the US. From Bill Clinton onwards, it's been a battle between the center and the far right (with the exception of George HW Bush). Nader was a better spokesman than Sanders, but they come across as zealous spoilers, and they're shut out of the debate. That's a sign that either the whole country doesn't want progressive politics (especially under the wokeness banner), or that the leftist option is barred by powerful special interests (those that make the US plutocratic).
