I agree, and a monetized experience is often a ruined one. It reminds me of the difference between climbing Mount Everest when it was reportedly still an honourable adventure to do so, when there weren't lineups having their hand held by experts, and junk all over the mountain. Likewise, the monetized blogosphere has been overrun by sophists and hacks.

Engaging with art is fun. Engaging with propaganda and drivel--not so much.
