I agree about Bardos, of course, but I think you're giving Rogan short shrift. I don't think he's terribly funny as a comedian. His humour's kind of loud and obnoxious, but he's into entheogens and peak states of consciousness. He's also into honour and men's rights. That, too, can go overboard. But my point is that he's not a hack superstar; he has a subversive, comedic vision.
And he's not capitalizing on a fad; rather, the fad's capitalizing on him, since he was podcasting long before it became a fad. His comedy career also long predates whatever's happenning on social media.
You should check out what MrBeast's up to. He's the quintessence of YouTube, and it's pretty appalling as a sign of the content that's most desired on social media.
