Also, we have to remember our audience. This publication, An Injustice! caters more to the left than to the right, so there's less of a need to adopt a centrist, diplomatic tone here. Moreover, not everyone wants to read writing that pulls its punches. Whenever I see an interview with a diplomat on TV, I instantly change the channel because you know the diplomat is in the business of spinning and lying by omission. Diplomacy may work in therapy, but who says writers or artists generally need to be therapists?
You're also assuming that both sides of a conflict always operate in good faith, or that they always have legitimate problems to solve. I see no reason to believe that.
