Hoarding is indeed a good example of infantilism, since it's about the lack of impulse-control.
The point about writing is that Medium promotes an infantilizing, SEO-friendly style of writing that features baby paragraphs. So it's not that anyone's forcing me to write; it's that if you want to have any success at all on this platform, you've got to write in that style, a style I avoided for years on my blog before I switched to Medium a year ago
